In societies such as Singapore, they have one of the lowest crime rates in the world as the people respect the punishments to follow. It will not create fear and outrage as everyone morally expects that for committing a crime such as a murder, they will have serious offenses. People also support that it is better to institute harsh punishments and to not have many crimes than to have many crimes and less harsh punishments for offenders. Also, including minimal punishments can also help for a cleaner society, as in Singapore you are fined for littering which has resulted in Singapore being a very cleanly and healthy city.

Many people will say that the people live in fear in a dictatorship but it is exactly the opposite as crime rates are incredibly low and people dont have to worry about personal safety. In cities governed by dictators, the crime rate is very low compared to other areas governed by governements such as a democracy. Singapore. This contribites to the safety and wellbeing of a country, as the murder and crime rates are low and people dont need to be converned with issues such as that. For example, the criminal rate is 0.38% in Singapore, although it is a monumental 5% in America. People will also say corruption is a large problem in democracies, and althought corruption will always find an opportunity, bribery and corruption is a very serious offense that will be followed by punishment in dictator run governments such as Singapore

In many democratic countries, gay marriage is still not allowed despite your claims that no one is discriminated against. Also, racism is still highly prominent in many democratic countries including in the governments. For example, in America, African Americans make up 14% of the drug using population although they have 37% of drug arrest. Also, African Americans and Latinos are much more likely to be innocently pulled over by cops than white people, with no cause.

In a democracy, there are opposing political parties and people in power, whereas in a dictatorship there are very few. Having few people in power will result in a more efficient and fast acting government as it does not have to pass through many fighting branches, parties and people. For example, for a law to be passed in America’s democratic government, laws have to pass through 100s of people, including the entire House of Representatives, and the Senate, as well as through the president. In a dictatorship, the laws just have to be approved by a few people. This leads to faster decision making, and matters being dealt with at the necessary speed of effectiveness, rather than taking too long.

Although in a democracy people have a say, the say they have is often not valuable and can harm the country as not every person is educated enough to be responsible to impact their country's future. With a dictatorship, decisions and elections can be made by the people in power that might not be popular with the people but will have good affect on their country. In conclusion, with a dictatorship more educated decisions can be made as the decision makers have more experience in the wellbeing of the country.

Arguement 1:Many people argue that a democracy could work better than a dictatorship, but I believe in theory a dictatorship could work better. Educated people in benevolent dictatorships have the option to put input for their government although in democracies, the entire population, who might not be aware, can have significant input. Many people these days are very ignorant and uneducated and are not aware of the state of their government. For example, 29% of Americans couldn’t name the current vice president. This shows that many people dont know what they are voting for, and are blindly contributing to political situations that could greatly affect the country’s future. Although some dictators can be negative, they were often chosen and supported by the people, such as Hitler. People believe that Hitler was supported because Germany was going through a rough patch and just wanted someone to blame, and someone who would support that. This is not true because the US is in a fine time, and masses of people back Donald trump whose preachings are absurd and insanely racist.

Opening Statement

We are speaking on behalf of the benefits of dictatorship and how it is superior to a democracy. In dictatorships, the leaders are more fit to lead, as in democracies people dont always know what they are voting for. Also, there are fewer parties and people that laws have to pass through, which leads to more efficient decision making. Also, a dictatoship is much better for the long run and future of a country.
