Closing statement:

Through all this, our points prove a democracy is better, the government is fair to everyone, giving everyone the right to say what they think is best for the country unlike in a dictatorship where the leader has all the rights and the people have nothing. You also have freedom to do what you want, say what you think for the better of the country. You can be who you are and not have to hide something just to be able to live in a country, and if the dictator finds out that you are something he does not approve you could be killed. Not sent out the country. Your life could be ended, just because you are something the dictator doesn’t like. Overall a democracy is more fair towards the people of the country and always has room for improvement if the people have a concern but people don’t get that in a dictatorship.

Punishments are made to fit the crime the person has made. You will not go to jail for years for something small.

The freedom of speech can lead to people saying things about each others religion, but at least you can live in the country rather than being killed for something that you can't help. Hitler killed 6 million innocent people, just for being Jews. There is nothing about that, that is fair. Your religion doesn't determine who you are as a person.

1 point

There could be less crime rate because people know they will die for doing the smallest of things. The punishment for committing a crime is over the top, if the dictator doesn't like your religion, you will be killed. If you are someone that the dictator doesn't like, you will be killed. The punishments for the crime you have committed does not fit properly, the punishment is almost always death.

Minority may not get a big say in something, but they don't get completely thrown away, they still get basic rights to say what they think is best and it gets put into consideration, whereas in a dictatorship there is no majority or minority so the dictator doesn't get anything from the people making it unfair towards the people if they have a concern about something. The people don't vote so they probably don't get the leader they want at all. At least in a democracy you have a chance getting the leader you feel will be the best for the country.

The leader may have a right to dispute the law, but many of the dictators haven't done that. They keep they law because it fits them and that's all that matters to them. It isn't the right way to rule a country and it leaves room for many mistakes that are usually not fixed.

People can make bad decisions, but there are still many people to go against it and give their opinion on why it should be better for something else, a dictator doesn't put the people into consideration meaning he/she could make bad decisions for the people which in ways can be worse.

1 point

Because no one has a say, it could be unfair what the dictator is doing, again over the years dictators have shown that they make decisions for themselves and not for the people of the country, showing that they don't care about the people and that they don't care about anything but making themselves happy which isn't a healthy place to live.

Argument 2:

The most obvious, but still very important, you have much more freedom in a democracy than a dictatorship, you have the freedom of speech. You can say what you think is right. With majority and minority, the majority does win, but with freedom of speech the minority get a say to say what they think is right as well so they aren’t just ignored. You have the freedom of religion. There are many different religions in a democracy and you can be any of them that you want without the restriction. But in a dictatorship leaders don’t like specific religions and go and kill them. Like Hitler did with Jews, he killed 6 million Jews, and he really had no reason to. He may have not liked Jews, but he killed innocent people who had done nothing to him. You have the freedom to be who you are, not having to hide something so you don’t get killed or severely punished for something that you can’t change. When someone has committed a crime, the punishment is reasonable for what they had done. If you are someone that the dictator just doesn’t like the punishment is most likely going to be death.

Many dictators over the years have shown and given the name that a dictatorship is bad, they make decisions for themselves, not putting the peoples opinions in view, making it a hard and unfair place to live, dictators make laws that fit themselves, not the people and not the country. It is unfair for the people who live their not getting their opinion looked at and not having a say in anything.
